I am thoughtful, practical and balanced. There is no way to know all of the issues the Village may face in the coming four years, but I intend to tackle them in a thoughtful way, keeping an open mind and looking to find real solutions to those issues.
I am a consensus builder. I work well with others and have worked collaboratively on boards in the past—always with the goal of finding “win/win” solutions.
I am a friendly person. Those who know me best can attest that I act with civility. I pledge to act with that same civility on the Village Board because I know that when a seven-member board acts with graciousness and courtesy toward each other, they can accomplish great things. We need to accomplish great things for Wilmette.
I am a good listener. The people of Wilmette have good ideas. I intend to listen to those ideas and incorporate them into my decision-making process. Local government only works well if the citizens participate and have a voice. I will hear your voices.
I will be a good steward of Wilmette’s fiscal strength. When our government seeks funds from its taxpayers, it has a duty to be thoughtful and vigilant in how those funds are spent. I will try to keep property taxes as low as possible while still delivering the first-class municipal services that Village residents have come to expect.
I will focus on the long-term strength of our Village. Wilmette is the wonderful place it is because past generations have helped make that happen. Those who have served in official capacities and in volunteer roles over the past 100+ years have delivered a Village that is vibrant and inclusive. I aim to deliver to future generations a Village that is welcoming and strong.
