I grew up in suburban Indianapolis, attending public schools and then heading off to Bates College for my undergraduate studies. After graduation in 1992, I worked for Chevrolet’s advertising agency in Detroit for a year before attending law school at Indiana University in Bloomington.
Following law school graduation in 1996, I moved to Chicago and worked for Kirkland & Ellis as a commercial litigator for several years. I worked for other medium to large firms following my time at Kirkland. Nine years ago, I opened my own law firm.
During my first year in Chicago, I met my wife Rebecca. We married in 1999 and continued to live in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. In 2003, we had boy-girl twins and started thinking about moving to the suburbs. In 2007, with our younger son on the way, we moved to Wilmette. We have been here ever since and can’t imagine living anywhere else. We love it here!
Our children have flourished in Wilmette. They attended D39 schools and then New Trier. Our twins are juniors in college now—one in Los Angeles and the other in Maine. Our younger son is a junior at New Trier. Our family has taken full advantage of what the Village has to offer—from Park District soccer and flag football to countless hours at Gillson Park and the beach to programs at the Wilmette Public Library. We are all lucky to live here.
