I’m Mike Lieber, and I’m running for Wilmette’s Village Board of Trustees.
My family and I have lived in Wilmette for more than 17 years. I have loved Wilmette since we first arrived, and the Village has only gotten better. Downtown Wilmette is flourishing. Our roads have significantly improved. The stormwater project has brought relief to residents in West Wilmette and Kenilworth Gardens. But there is more work to do. We should always be seeking to improve our Village.
I have been a local volunteer since we first arrived in Wilmette, and I hope to continue my volunteer service as a Member of the Village Board of Trustees. My focus on the Board will be to advance our community in all facets. For example, we need to support both the continued success of downtown businesses and restore the vibrancy of key shopping areas, including the 4th and Linden neighborhood, the Ridge Road corridor and the corridor near West Park.
We must protect Wilmette’s environment and increase bike connectivity. And we need to fully support community safety by funding our first responders.
I am proud of Wilmette. I am proud to tell people that I live in Wilmette. We have a lot to be proud about. Ours is a wonderful community. But we must always be looking for ways to improve it. I hope to help Wilmette evolve from the great place it already is to an even better place.
Please join me in that journey.
